Food and Hydration

You should carry some food with you, as shops may be closed for some reason. Eat well before starting a stage.

It is essential that you drink plenty of fluids during your walk and also that you eat small portions several times. Pay attention to the availability of water in stages that are long and very isolated from support facilities, and avoid sugary drinks.

When you fill up from natural sources, pay attention to public signs regarding water quality. Lunch (usually between 12:30 p.m. and 02:00 p.m.) or dinner (usually between 07:30 p.m. and 09:00 p.m.), are sometimes socialisation moments.

There are, in several shops, specific menus for pilgrims, at prices even lower than the daily menu, so ask about the prices before ordering your lunch.
